An Island of Sihanoukville will be an International Recreation Center

A 300 million Euro investment project will transform Koh Puos (snakes’ island) of Sihanoukville to be an international recreation center.

The 99-year project was officially launched under the presidency of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akkak Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen on7 June 2008.

This investment project, said the Prime Minister, will not make Koh Puos belong to foreigners.

We are not selling the island and from the investment we have more employment opportunities, meaning the increase of household and national revenues.

The project of Russian investment group starts with the construction of 900 meter concrete bridge linking Hawaii beach to Koh Puos, said Public Works and Transportation Minister Sun Chanthol.

The construction of the bridge is expected to finish by the end of 2010.

Director of the investment group Chepa Alexey, in his address, was committed to make the project successful using local human resources which he estimated to be around 25,000 jobs.
